Discussing the Feminist Agenda in Margaret Atwood’s Dystopian Novels

In this article, an analysis is made of Margaret Atwood’s The Handmaid’s Tale (1985) and MaddAddam (2013) from a gendered generic perspective. was one the novels that marked dystopian turn in 1980s writing fiction, while is, for some critics, feminist critical dystopia which ending retains hope better future. Consequently, both belong priori to specific branch genre: novel. However, ambiguity or even contradictory readings can be inferred texts. This article explores MaddAddam’s portrayal women their acts resistance order assess these texts’ liberatory still inherently conservative messages endings, especially regarding women.
